Course Detail
Overview
BMGP – SM aims at developing a superior class of (transformative) managers who have a sound foundation in general management with specialist knowledge and competency in sustainability management. The SM is of critical importance particularly with the introduction of mandatory requirements on curtailing greenhouse gas emission and resource conservation. Public and private organisations need to equip their managers with the necessary knowledge and skills to initiate, lead, monitor and control sustainable business practices with focus on three key dimensions: economy, ecology and social responsibility. Successful SM requires professionals with broader managerial skills and specific leadership competencies in order to attain organisational objectives, whilst meeting and exceeding sustainability targets. The BMGP – SM is designed to develop managers with leadership abilities and competence to shape and manage SM policy and strategies in modern day business operations, set up complex relationships, and initiate changes to benefit from carbon trading and similar schemes. The BMGP – SM is fully aligned with the dynamics of this field and embeds a situational leadership approach to learning and development.
