Course Detail
Overview
BMGP (GRM) is designed for senior managers who should have a sound foundation in business management with specialist knowledge and competency in corporate governance and risk management. The importance of governance has been well understood in the light of recent corporate collapses across the world. Systemic corporate governance is pivotal in creating sustainable organisations, preventing fraud, meeting statutory obligations and managing risks. The board and the CEO in organisations need to provide direction and strategies to steer their organisation towards successful attainment of their goals within the legal framework of their host countries.
Development of professionals with broader managerial skills and specific competencies in governance and risk management is now considered essential as experience must be merged with insights and specific knowledge of the legal and due processes, systems and tools to manage governance and to avoid personal and corporate liabilities. The BMGP (GRM) is designed to give senior managers an opportunity to study governance and develop special knowledge and competence to be effective members of governing bodies (board member, director and senior executive management positions). These roles typically have confined themselves to broad oversight of operations but now require expertise in setting up corporate governance systems, assessing and managing the performance of an organisation accordingly. Risk analysis is a tool to uncovering weaknesses in corporate governance and addressing the same. It certainly transcends the traditional audits for compliance with legal requirements only.
