Description
The objective of the Graduate Diploma in BM is to equip graduates with business management skills and advanced knowledge to enable them to enter the workforce in the roles of Line Managers or equivalent. The Graduate Diploma in BM builds on the common foundation obtained in the Graduate Certificate in BM course. In addition to the units studied in the Graduate Certificate in BM, the Graduate Diploma in BM requires students to further complete 3 units of study.
The Graduate Diploma in Business Management is a formally accredited and recognised postgraduate qualification at university level. This course aims to provide a sound basis for integrated learning of general management fundamentals.
Current normative thinking entrenched in the education and training of managers is vastly insufficient. Today’s managers need to think strategically and demonstrate mastery of managerial perspectives that can optimise the business value and aid the achievement of triple objectives. The focus in our programs is to study management within an extended framework characterised by organisational core competencies. We apply an integrated business planning and development approach that has due emphasis on the delivery of business goals and achievement of triple objectives of financial, social and environment. This approach transcends the traditional paradigms and focuses on the development of a superior class of creative-reflective practitioners and business leaders.

Offshore
APIC’s Offshore programs make it possible for you to undertake all or part of your Postgraduate courses outside of Australia. Programs can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Offshore students study the same learning program with the same quality education and use the same APIC materials as students undertaking the course on-campus in Australia. You will also undertake the same examinations and are assessed against the same levels of performance.
Students may choose to apply to APIC directly and study via the APIC online learning system. Alternatively, you can join the program offered by an APIC partner education institution in your preferred country, and study in the local campus.
Delivery Method
Each unit of study typically comprises a 4-day intensive workshop followed by project studies that involve completion of 4 major team assignments (whose scope vary depending on the unit under consideration). The assignments are conducted on real life organisations where feasible. Students receive expert support during their project studies. The final assessment (viva) for each unit of study takes place upon completion of the project studies. The whole process is facilitated through mentoring and state-of-the-art frameworks, systems and tools.
All credit points gained as part of the Graduate Certificate in Business Management will count towards the Graduate Diploma requirements provided that the candidate does not exit the program (students may transfer their enrolments subject to conditions advised at the time of transfer).
Entry Requirements
1. Qualification Requirement
The admission process assesses a student´s ability to enrol in and successfully complete the course of their choice in the permitted time. Suitability of applicants to study a particular course is to a large extent determined by the admission rules and academic requirements.
Entry into any of the award courses the College offers is open to all applicants who possess a relevant Bachelor degree and or a Graduate degree from a recognised institution either in Australia and or overseas.
Those who have not completed a formal degree may be admitted into the program provided that they have at least completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a recognised institution or hold an equivalent qualification and have relevant industry experience. Eligibility for admission through the flexible entry will be determined on a case by case basis (a charge may apply for assessing certain cases).
2. English Level Requirement
For admission into one of the award courses APIC requires as a minimum one of the following English qualifications:
- Academic IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 or better with no band below 6.0;
- TOEFL: 577 or better plus Test of Written English (TWE) at 4.5+;
- Academic PTE, minimum 59 to 64;
- Academic PTE, minimum 59 to 64;
- CBT (Computer-based TOEFL): 233 with an Essay Rating of 4.5;

The qualification must be less than 2 years old.
Alternatively, applicants may be accepted if they have successfully completed 1 year of a Vocational qualification at a Diploma or Advanced level in Australia, or have successfully completed an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree, in Australia or Overseas for a minimum of 2 years, within the last 24 months in which English has been the sole medium of instruction and examination. Those who do not meet the English requirements can be referred to English language centres to complete intensive courses in English prior to commencing their award courses at APIC. The length of these English courses varies, typically from 4 to 20 weeks. After completion of the intensive English course the students may be requested to sit for an APIC placement test.
If immediately prior to applying for admission to APIC a student was enrolled and had been studying in a course offered by an Australian university comparable in level to that he or she has applied for in APIC, then the student will be admitted into the selected course. In all such cases APIC may still require students under consideration to complete additional English courses and pass the English for Academic Purposes test (minimum score 50) or equivalent tests within the first semester of their studies at APIC.
