Short Summary*

This intensive workshop will cover the following areas: Fundamental principles behind good management and comparison with legal requirements; social and ethical considerations on projects; understanding of stakeholders' rights and responsibilities and how these will affect project management; brief overview of the contract law; potential liabilities associated with project participation; optimisation of project team responsibilities, provision of legal power for effective management; optimum systems for project delivery/management under uncertain conditions; management of OH & S, environmental due diligence and other statutory liabilities.

The emphasis will be on a thorough analysis of the performance of typical delivery systems vis-ã-vis specific project/program delivery requirements and detailed criteria. As contractual design and legal relationships are at the core of all project/program delivery systems, this workshop is of critical relevance to management of projects and programs and supply chain management. The study will embrace traditional contracting systems as well as newer forms such as Design and Contrast, Novation, EPC, Project Management, Alliance and BOO/BOOT approaches.

Notes:
*Intensive lecture sessions in each unit are followed by tutorial and case studies or project work sessions for deep learning outcomes. A knowledge assessment will be conducted for those participants wishing to obtain a Certificate of Completion of a given unit of study.
