Good news for APIC’s students – New Post-Study Work Visa
The Australian Government announced eligibility of the post-study work visa for Bachelor, Masters by coursework, Masters by research and PhD degree graduates from Higher Education Institutions accredited to offer degree level programs in Australia (APIC is an accredited HEI).
From mid 2013 students who will have completed their degrees after at least two academic years of studies in Australia will have access to post-study work arrangements. This regulation will apply to those international students who have completed their degrees in the six months prior to applying for the post-study work visa.
Further, graduates must have studied in a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) for at least two academic years (92 weeks). The course must have been conducted in English and should be completed in no less than 16 calendar months while holding a valid Australia visa. Note that APIC's MBA degree is of 2 years duration and the Master of Business Management (MBM) as well as the Master of Business and Project Management (MBPM) are 1.5 years (18 months) each. Students can first complete the Graduate Diploma and then proceed to complete the MBM and or MBPM degree. This option will also take 2 years of study.Read more
Master and or MBA degree graduates of APIC will have access to the post-study work visa arrangements provided that their student visa application date is after 5th November 2011 and can meet other criteria. Those students who are currently enrolled in APIC and expect to complete their studies before mid 2013 are still entitled to apply for the Temporary Skilled Graduate Visa (subclass 485).
